To person

Heinz Möseneder was a contemporary artist, known for his works in painting and sculpture. His use of colour, material and form created an independent aesthetic between emotional depth and spiritual reflection.

Born in 1946 in Rohrbach, Upper Austria, He studied art and art education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (Austria) and, prior to that, attended the Bremen Art School (Germany). His family also had a significant influence on his artistic development: his great-grandfather was a court sculptor and his grandfather a stained-glass artist.

As an academic sculptor he taught in Switzerland, Germany and most recently in Austria. In 1971, he found his adopted home in Carinthia, where he lived with his wife in a 13th century vicarage - a place of art, culture and encounters.

Möseneder has achieved international recognition with exhibitions at home and abroad. He died in July 2022 after a short, serious illness at the age of 76.

His works combine expressive abstraction, geometric elements and biomorphic forms. They radiate calm, open up spiritual depth and, despite their technical precision, retain something deliberately unfinished - as a reflection of his view of creation and life.

"With Heinz Möseneder, everything seems to be in flux - because he is always in search of the origin."

01

Influence of the landscape

The landscapes of his habitat in Gradenegg have had a lasting influence on Heinz Möseneder's artistic work. In his works, they appear as atmospheric images, as abstracted spaces or as silent backdrops of inner movement.

The combination of nature and the female body is particularly characteristic. Nudes, forms and landscapes merge into compositions that open up sensuality, tranquillity and a deeper dimension of perception.

02

Travelling and inspiration

Trips to Iceland, Ireland, Morocco, Israel and other countries expanded Möseneder's view of colour, form and atmosphere. The impressions of these places are reflected in his works without being mere illustrations.

Rather, pictorial worlds are created that appear both strange and familiar at the same time. Repeated viewing reveals new details, hidden layers and silent clues to a deeper order.

03

Cosmic dimensions

Möseneder's art is characterised by the search for origins, lost values and spiritual depth. His works revolve around transcendence, meditation and the depiction of cosmic connections.

The female body often becomes a projection surface for inner and universal spaces. His works radiate calm and at the same time preserve those unexplored depths that only reveal themselves through intensive contemplation.
