Description
The work "Carrara I" reflects the dynamism and natural power of Carrara marble. Through the fine, almost sketchy lines, the artist creates the impression that the stone seems to be moving, as if it were coming to life. The abstracted forms reveal contours of human figures and curved movements that interweave and lend the composition an extraordinary energy.
The reduction of colour to shades of white and grey reinforces the association with marble, while the black accents emphasise the depths and shadows of the stone. The result is a visual journey that takes the viewer into the world of sculpture and the origin of form and matter. This work is the first in a series that celebrates the beauty and creative energy of Carrara marble.
