Description
Heinz Möseneder's "Cherub - earthwards" unites heaven and earth in a dynamic composition that thematises the transition between spiritual and natural worlds. The cherub, a symbolic being between heaven and earth, is not depicted here in a classically exaggerated form, but rather seems to descend into the earthly sphere as if it were part of the natural order.
The delicate lines create a structure that is reminiscent of both the fleeting movement of clouds and the solid forms of rocks. The warm earth tones blend with subtle hints of celestial light, giving the work an organic yet celestial quality. The title "earthwards" emphasises the focus on the connection between heaven and earth, on the downward movement of the heavenly into nature and mankind. This creates a bridge between the spiritual and the tangible, between transcendence and the ground of reality.
