The painting "Sölk-Basalt I" by Heinz Möseneder interprets the fascinating world of rock and its wealth of layers in an abstract way. Inspired by the Sölk region and its geological diversity, the work pays homage to the natural shapes and colours of the basalt formations.

Dark, almost black colour tones on the left and right of the picture suggest the massive and profound properties of basalt rock. These powerful areas contrast with the central, delicate composition of white and pastel colours, which suggest gentle movement and lightness through filigree lines. This line could be understood as an abstraction of geological layers or as a symbolic transition between the hardness of the rock and the softness of nature.

"Sölk-Basalt I" invites the viewer to rediscover the often overlooked beauty of the earth and its geological wonders and at the same time offers a meditative space to reflect on the connection between art, nature and the history of the earth.
