This work is a spiritual homage to the art of living and to the connection between painting and sculpture. Inspired by the marble sculpture Life Stone, the artist shows here an approach to three-dimensionality that reflects his work as a sculptor. The curved lines and spiral patterns symbolize the cycle of life – a constant becoming and passing away.

The light, earthy tones and the subtle play of light and shadow lend the painting an almost sculptural quality that constantly draws the eye to new details. It is as if the brushstrokes were chiseled in stone, a connection between the permanence of sculpture and the fleetingness of painting.
